DIY: Newspaper nails

image

We’ve been loving the newspaper nails trend so much that we decided to give it try! This is a fun and easy way to do nail art and uses items that can be found around the house. Check out our easy 5-step DIY below!

Things you need:

  • Base coat (optional)
  • White or light grey nail polish
  • Rubbing alcohol (sold at most drugstores for around $2- make sure you don’t confuse this with nail polish remover!)
  • Newspaper (cut into 1 inch squares to make application easier)
  • Clear top-coat
  • Q-tips to clean up (optional)

1. Paint nails with a clear base coat, let dry. Then, paint nails with a white or light grey nail polish dry. Let nails completely dry.

2. Pour a small amount of the rubbing alcohol into a small container or bowl.  Dip first nail into container for 5 seconds.

3. Place a piece of newspaper on the wet nail and hold for 15 seconds. Be sure to keep the newspaper still to avoid smudging. After 15 seconds, slowly peel off the newspaper. Repeat with rest of nails.

4. Use a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean-up around nails.

6. Paint nails with clear top coat for a shiny smudge-free finish!
